I am in love with

the neon green bag on the left (via stylesightings). The floral cut-out detailing on the straps is what sold me.

Costs USD1095. :(

Homey Weekend

I finally caught a break this week, working a full day only on Friday. Can you believe how awesome that felt?! *big grin

Anyways, as usual, when I have time, I'm always on the net, looking, learning, lusting and absorbing, in no particular order.

Here are a few of my favourite links/quotes/items I found/saw/read this week, again in no particular order. Enjoy!

paper eyelashes from paperself . My personal favourite is the deer and butterfly pair. its made of paper though, so one wonders how reusable this is.

this woman almost upstaged Kate at her fairytale wedding to her prince. I'm referring to Pippa, Kate's sister. Hotness....agreed?

sexy tights. ooh la la here

this would be a good addition to my collection of maxi dresses: edgy razorback maxi dress from static fumes

No stay home week is complete without watching a few tv series. I'm hooked on Korean drama "I am Legend" about ahjumas (Korean for aunties) finding their way through life and their personal problems, and finding happiness and fulfillment through music. Kim Jung Eun plays the lead and I'm taken with her beauty and gawkiness here. An adorable combination no?

I am also making my way through season one of Medium. Awesome stuff. Incidentally season one came out in 2005 and recently ended its run (season seven!!!) in January this year. haha! i'm a slow starter!

This week I finally finished season one of The Good Wife. Getting a little irritated at the hesitant heroine who is right now (at episode 23) caught between two guys - her husband and her boss/schoolfriend. Like make your decision already!!!

This Month I Want....

I've never really wanted a maxi dress this much till I saw the Paradise Stripe Maxi from Warehouse.

And I'm still debating whether to buy the Ipad or a Netbook. Went to the IT Fair (for the first time in my life) and saw a Netbook for $399 as opposed to the IPad (Wifi +3G) which would cost me $848.

How??

Am I Crazy?!

for wanting to buy a pair of earrings that would set me back by $150?

The pair in question? The 1960 tribal earrings I saw in the stand-alone shop outside Mandarin Gallery.

They are absolutely gorgeous with a very unique stud-cum-clip-on backing which I LOVE!!!!

The boyfriend forbade me to buy it. But how to resist the call of this charmingly be-yoo-ti-full pair!! :(

I am dejected.

I wish I could add these to my wardrobe

Bleubird is having a sale! And I wish I could buy these two dresses.

After conversion and shipping, both might come up to about SGD 90 EACH!

The Luxe Issue

the Lash Blast Luxe Shimmery Volumising Mascara by Cover Girl.

Here's a vid by MsDebraMaye on her review of the mascara. As you can see, it really works. The thing that sold me though, was the shimmers that come with this mascara. Very eye-popping!

On the subject of makeup, I also watched this summer tutorial on her youtube channel.
What I love about this look is that she uses the unconventional colour of yellow and pulls it off very well. The effect is very light, fun and flirty. I'll definitely be trying this look when I have the time coz it takes her almost 10 mins to create this look and well, i'm the 5-minutes-out-the-door kinda girl. Hehe.

I just got home from lunch and I popped into Guardian and look what I found!

I know. Super cool! The larger box contains 14 ultrathin 32cm overnight pads ($6.40) and the tin holds 5 ultrathin 23cm pads (at $1.95, its a steal!)

For the budget-conscious gals:
Guardian also has this promotion that if you spend more than $30 in a single receipt, you get 20% off your whole bill! Do your math, and you'll find that the prices after discount are really great value for money!

The Monday Mosaic Post

When I checked into the then-new Baiyoke Boutique Hotel, one of the first things I noticed about my room was the toilet. I believe that hotel room toilets are a yardstick for hotels. For one, you can tell how much the hotel has done in terms of upkeeping its facilities.

So, this toilet in my very pleasant room at the Baiyoke Boutique, was done up in cement. Just plain cement for the floor, and the walls. What saved it from looking like I just moved in during the hotel-construction period were the mosaic tiles in bright orange and red framing the mirror and splashing across the walls.

I notice that very few people in Singapore use mosaic for their home decor. Cost is probably an issue, as mosaic does not come cheap. Cost aside, I would probably add mosaic, though not in big doses, to my future piece of domestic paradise.

But if! If I didn't have to care about any monetary costs at all, these mosaic lamps would be so heavenly...

And so would these mosaic wall and floor pieces...

The mosaic pieces in today's post comes from the Art Mosaic Factory or SCIS.
I especially love their pinup girls. Yes, pinup MOSAIC girls.

And what I wouldn't give to soak in these. Absolutely stunning and a definite conversation piece. This will be the only decorative item you'll need for your bathroom.

This week, I am going to

write uplifting notes on a post-it and put them up in any public place!

examples of quotes might be:

"Give to every human being every right that you claim for yourself"

"I just realized that there's going to be a lot of painful times in life, so I better learn to deal with it the right way."

"What worries you masters you"

"Victory belongs to the most pesevering" - Napoleon Bonaparte

And since we are on the topic of post-its, I couldn't resist these ones from knockknock. They are just too cute!

I'm also considering these notepads.

Now I can list out all those blogshop urls in one place!

For those who are too shy to open their mouths...

When you've had enough of someone.

tights anyone?

Tights are one of the longest lasting trends. It has survived through the past two years in the minds of the fickle fashion people - a miracle indeed.

I do not regularly wear tights. However, on occasion, I do feel that tights are a godsend for those too-opaque dresses or dresses that look like tunics instead. When I feel like wearing something like that, my black tights are my very best friend at that moment.

Recently, okay maybe not so recently, there has been a color explosion in the world of tights that has taken the world by storm and only recently hit the shores of Singapore. You don't see that many people wearing odd colored tights - read: not too many fashion forward girls here AND the fact that most are still stuck wearing tunics with shorts underneath, wide belts around their waist and gladiator sandals on their feet.

I still have a pair of maroon colored tights that I wore in Melbourne a year ago. Today I saw a lady wearing peacock green tights that would have looked weird, but didn't. I liked it actually.

Better than the colored tights are the ones from Bebaroque I saw off KOS. I'd wear their tights any day, if it weren't for the price. Priced at a range of £22.95 - £45.95, you'd see why. I'm still tempted to get Dorothy/Sphinx or Cleopatra though.

Dorothy - £29.95

Cleopatra (gold) - £30.00

Cleopatra (pink) - £22.95

Viperluxx (left) - £69.95

Viper (right) - £29.95

Sphinx - £39.95

Seriously considering...

Really.

BB Cream!!

My new beauty must-have (other than eyelash extensions) is....*drum roll*....BB cream!!! I just bought a tube of BB cream from Korean brand Etude House when I was in Bangkok. This is the Etude House's Korean's site which IMO is cuter!!

I also bought the Aqua Ice Sherbet spray for the face. It is supposed to tone up your cheeks and jawline. Haven't really used it so I'll save that review for later. BB cream is more important!!!

For those who don't know what BB cream is - its a cream that is a foundation, concealer, sunblock and moisturizer rolled into one creamy latte dollop of BB cream! Yes! Its magical, its a miracle!!! The best thing is, the cream will follow your skin tone, so no matter whether you're fair, or tanned, the cream will always suit your skin colour! No more buying new face powders whenever I spent too much time in the sun or whenever my tan faded. Trust me, it is damn irritating!

So anyway, back to BB cream. They don't have it in Singapore!!!! Grrr...the nearest is in KL or in JB at some Aeon Bukit Indah place. I don't know where the hell it is!! So near yet so far. I'm damn sad. :(......

because, there's another item I would really really love to purchase. And that is...Etude House's Tear Drop Lash!! Apparently, every touch of tear drop on eyelash tips creates a transparent gel layer on your eyelashes that sparkles everytime you blink!

How to use: Apply tear drop to eyelash tips after mascara has completely dried. Turn dial 5-10 times to dispense contents. So nice!!!

I so want it!!! Now, I only just have to figure out how to get to that Bukit Indah store in JB or go to KL!!

*NEWSFLASH* I just came back from JB and guess what!!!!!!!!!! There's an Etude House store opening at City Square! When I saw that familiar logo pasted on the doors of the still-renovating store, I went into exhilirated overdrive. Reverently touching the boarded doors of the shop, I almost kissed it! Soap was laughing at me all the while and I got quite a few wierd looks. But I don't care!!
Prayers answered!!! I do NOT have to go to KL after all! Thank you thank you thank you!

Christmas Comes Early!

darling Liz just sent me the black organizer I was blogging about last month. Thanks dear!!! Love you!

I must describe it to you! It has ample space for daily inputs as well as weekly ones, there is even a free pack of stickers to mark out either the months or special pages. I'm so anxious to start using it!!! Can't wait for January 2009!

Speaking of January, I'll be spending the New Year in Bangkok! Was supposed to fly on Tuesday but the airport was still closed on Monday. We managed to change everything to the end of December - Jetstar kindly allowed us to change our flight there FOC but AirAsia still wanted us to top up $80 for the change in flight back to Singapore. Do they think they are actually going to be able to fly us back on time? I doubt so! I'm now a loyal fan of Jetstar! Ha!

I so need a break. I can almost feel my brain shutting down bit by bit. Going to teach everyday is getting harder day by day!

But some good news to brighten up my day! I just received an email from Helen of Cat Socrates that I've just made one sale! I'm so excited! Hee~

Secondly, the Headbangers Brigade will be at MAAD market at Red Dot this weekend, so do come down and lepak(hangout/chillout) with me k? Love ya!

Oh Happy Day

Finally finally I get a break! No teaching, no rehearsals, no performances. A break for one day!

So what do I do? I go to the gym, after a much-too-long hiatus. I meet Soap for lunch and then we go collect my HEADBANGERS stickers from some block in the middle of Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park! They look beautiful! I can't wait to paste them on my packaging for the headbands *actually I've done about 15 already! Couldn't wait!*

We then head to Republic Poly to discuss what we'll do for the full day cultural immersion programme this Saturday at Victoria School. We'll be teaching our future leaders of Singapore. Apparently, pupils in this programme (they take Melayu or Bahasa Indonesia as a third language) are being groomed to take on various positions in the government in the future. Its all hush-hush and the pupils are approached separately. Hmmm...lets see what mettle they're made of.

And then and then!!!!! We go to JB!!! I get to eat the mango snow ice i've been craving for for the longest time, I buy an absolutely gorgeous pair of shoes in grey with a suede layer pictured below (although i've to sun one half of it as they're of different shades of grey, sigh long story...)

AND we get to eat a delicious seafood meal at Tebrau Market for only SGD10 per person!

I'm a contented woman! Now, if only I could get my hands on this or this for my planner next year!
