This is actually a room in house owned by Artist Gunilla Holm Platou and her husband, movie poster designer Eivind Stoud Platou.
The bookshelf has such a lived-in feel to it and the stacks of magazines at the bottom look like mine (only mine is currently living under the bed for now).

The William
is a great stove that I want for my home!!!!!

Its kind of like an induction cooker, only bigger, more intelligent and cool-er. Heh, kinda like its big brother?
It doesn't tell you where you should place your pot or pan to be heated and you can cook/heat more than 4 pots/pans at once, due to the fact that one can use any part of this stove's surface.
See the video if you do not believe.

Hooray for Plus sized girls, Surrealist paintings and Fantastic furniture
V Magazine will be launching their Plus Size January 2010 issue. I actually thought both were the same models, only just photoshopped, but on closer scrutiny (and after reading the captions, duh!), I found out both were different models. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't their plus-sized model not really plus-sized? They should have chosen a model with more meat to represent most of the plus-sized women now! You judge for yourself.
See the photos here ----- "One Size Fits All"
These are some gorgeous surrealism paintings by Russian artist Vladimir Kush
Would love to frame these for keeps.

New Year is coming and other than the impending resolutions on my mind, I also have the idea of new furniture. Though these would have to stay in my dream house for now...
(items below by Loyal Loot Collective)
One can never have enough of storage...log bowls!!!!

aww too cute!!! finally something masculine yet feminine. You know what I mean.

(items below by Slovenian designer Nika Zupanc)
Phonique sofa and Tapisserie sofa (single) in c minor. Doesn't look comfy but sure as hell looks amazing.

I can just imagine this house-warming kitchen scenario with Mrs Dalloway here:
Overzealous houseguest: "Hey where's your stove? You guys don't cook?"
Lo and behold, I open this mini hot plate to the awed gasps of my guests.
I'm not kidding. I really really really really want this cool fashionista/kitchen item for my house. Dream pad or not.
(items below from Mooi)
This oblique bookshelf can't house much stuff. But then again, its for my DREAM house.

Love love love this smoke chandelier.

Heaven Scent...

I just bought this Kiwi and Cucumber fragrance diffuser from the wonderful Ashleigh & Burwood. I love unconventional fragrances and this is definitely ranked up there!
To use it, one just needs to put the reeds provided into the bottle (using less reeds for a subtler scent and more for a stronger scent) and voila! You have a continuous infusion of the scent in your room without having to burn essential oils! Definitely a plus point for convenience!
The salesgirl also told me that this is good for the skin. How true is that I don't know but its happy where its sitting now in my room!

Old Lace
A friend of mine enlightened me to the use of this term: "Old Lace". It means spinster, which is an unmarried woman of mature years or who has passed the standard marriageable age and is still unmarried. Oh well, you get my point. However, this post today is not about spinsters and their ways, although I definitely have a lot to say on that point. But that is for another post altogether.
Today's post is on old lace. Literally, old or vintage lace. I came across these and they were so lovely I had to share it with you.

1. Vintage pillowcases that are simply too beautiful from customhouselinen
2. Vintage lace necklaces from dejarnette
3. Gorgeous lace lamp shades by Caitlin Holcomb
4. Lovely vintage lace shrug by Holly Stalder
