A friend of mine enlightened me to the use of this term: "Old Lace". It means spinster, which is an unmarried woman of mature years or who has passed the standard marriageable age and is still unmarried. Oh well, you get my point. However, this post today is not about spinsters and their ways, although I definitely have a lot to say on that point. But that is for another post altogether.
