On plan today: shopping at Bondi Beach Market.
Not on plan today? Shutting down of trains heading towards the City. Allow me to describe how we got to Bondi. First, hop on a bus towards Strathfield train station with a bus driver that has no clue whatsoever the route to take. It became more like a school excursion. People were calling out directions from the back of the bus, and the bus driver was asking the passengers which destinations they were headed to.
Next, get on the train at Strathfield and head to Town Hall. Board the City Rail bus at Town Hall to get us to Bondi Junction. Alight and board bus 381 to Bondi Beach. It took us more than an hour to get there!! WTH!!!
The best thing? Winds blowing at gale force when we reach Bondi Beach. The stall owners at Bondi Beach market are packing up because they say there is a storm coming. Tents are flying off and their clothes and bags are all blown onto the floor.
But not to worry. I can shop in any weather. Proof? My finds:
A cane tote from the 1960s, a long straw multicolour clutch from the 70s, several vintage belts and overall dresses from a new designer called Manirack. We make plans to view her other designs next Saturday.
Then its the long trudge against the direction of the wind to get to the bus stop. Man, its just like the time on Pulau Ubin when my sister's umbrella got blown upside down and Daniel came out of the chalet under a garbage bin.
Ciao for now. Battling the wind can be so tiring.
